There are two 18-hole golf courses around Apia, the slightly neglected Royal Samoa Golf Club a few km to the east of town near the Fagalii domestic airport, and Faleata Country Club, a new championship course set slightly inland on the gentle slopes of the inland mountains which is well maintained. Both golf courses have beautiful mountain and coastal views and are open to the public with a ST$12 green fee. Golf club and shoe hire is possbale but club quality may not be to your standards - both offer Golf Carts which is extremely welcome in the intense Samoan heat. Golf is a light hearted game in Samoa and it is not unusual to see groups of six or eight people hitting the ball together. Being waved through is uncommon!

Guests staying at Aggie Grey Hotel in Apia are offerd complimentary transfers to the Faleata Golf Club. Ther's also a 9-hole pitch and putt at Sinalei Reef Resort on the south coast of Upolu Island.
