Eco Tourism Guide

Samoa Eco Tourism is thriving and promotes most of the agendas of green tourism, notably community tourism and preservation of the natural environment. It's success depends almost entirely on how these are administered by the tour companies and experienced by the tourist.

Staying in a beach fale is the simplest form of eco-tourism in Samoa. Beach fales are all locally owned and operated by local villagers and enable them to achieve a standard of living whilst retaining their daily subsistence lifestyle. Now, if that beach fale is dumping its septic waste into the sea, then this becomes negative tourism. .
